I removed this tranny from "I THINK" a 70 Buick GS 455
back in the very early 80's. The car was pretty much stripped out except
for the full-of-water 455 & tranny. No interior. No doors. No front
clip. floors gone, broken glass, etc. It was a fairly rare setup so I bought
it with the intent of building a fairly rare GS someday. Anyway, the tranny
is original? or not, dunno, but the stamped id numbers are: S2R14 and the
original Hurst shifter number: 0500542M. I separated the shifter unit from
the tranny years and years ago to ease storage, and I am not 100% certain
I have it together correctly, but its all there and hooked up. I've looked
for the 3 speed console medallion and can't seem to locate it at the moment.
I've promised Dave Kleiner the use of these rare 3 speed shifter linkages
so he can reproduce them.
Here is a list of the 3 speed manufacturers:
----------------------------------------------
65-69 FoMoCo sourced toploader 3 speed
70 Muncie H.D. 3 speed
71-72 Saginaw 3 speed
